Rebecca Guyett-Designer, Painter, Printmaker, Illustrator
Rebecca worked in London for several years as a Senior graphic designer producing packaging design, corporate identities/brochure, then set up Guyett Design creating design solutions for in-store promotions, shop fronts / interiors, corporate ID/ business cards and brochures with a wide variety of customers.
Her last studio was in Oxford Street and also at this time she had also started to paint again and displayed her art at several exhibitions including Battersea Contemporary Art Fair, Landmark Art Fair, Teddington and Kings x St Pancras. Several pieces of her Art were sold at charity auctions, including one at Christies and at Bankside Gallery. She would love to know who bought those paintings and where they are now…?
After moving to Dorset with her family she enrolled on a printmaking course and really took to screen printing. Since then she has developed her own techniques in this process, mixing colours on each layer to create painterly effects through the medium and sometimes incorporating Monotype and Linoprint as well.
She still works in oils, and is often asked to do commissions in this medium. Although it is a very different process to printmaking she feels now, that the line between the two is becoming increasingly blurred so that her individual, unique style is beginning to show through both approaches techniques..
I am always happy to have studio visits… it gives you a chance to have a proper look through the reams of work in here… it also forces me to clean up!!
My Basement Studio - Unfortunately it doesn’t always look this tidy - this photo was from the early days when we first finished doing up the space…!!
